Crape Myrtle, Burgundy Cotton
Lagerstroemia indica 'Whit VI' PP14438 P2 'Burgundy Cotton' Burgundy Cotton Crape Myrtle
Lagerstroemia indica 'Whit VI' PP14438 P2 'Burgundy Cotton'
Burgundy Cotton Crepe Myrtle is a very interesting cultivar due to the many color variations throughout the year. Burgundy Cotton Crepe Myrtle is a broad, upright grower with white flowers that have yellow stamens but, under cool conditions, the flowers can turn rosey colored. The new growth is red wine colored maturing to wine and green which is a nice backdrop for the flowers. The flower buds are burgundy and quite showy. Burgundy Cotton is a smaller grower and would be a good choice for areas where a smaller, showy specimen is needed, for use in a mixed border, and on corners of smaller homes.
